I appreciate that many of you have had poor experiences before. Here's what you tell me went wrong, and how I handle it.
The usual: You book with a sales office. Strangers turn up on the day, and nobody picks up the phone.
With North Star, you're dealing directly with me. I'll keep you informed, be honest about what to expect and make sure you know what's happening throughout the move. A large portion of my work comes from repeat customers and referrals.
The usual: Your fridge thrown in unprotected, and a shrug when it’s scratched.
I take the responsibility of moving your belongings seriously. I use protective blankets, strapping and professional moving equipment to keep everything secure and protected throughout the move.
The usual: A four-hour arrival window and a crew that turns up at the end of it.
I know that moving day runs on a schedule. I aim to arrive promptly, communicate clearly and give you a realistic idea of how long your move will take, so you're not left wondering what's happening.

I'll go over your move and give you a realistic idea of how long it'll take and what it'll cost. For furniture pickups, I can give a fixed price.
Pick a time that suits you. I work weekends and outside normal hours when needed.
I turn up on time with a 4.5-tonne truck, trolleys, blankets and strapping. I handle disassembly and reassembly, wrap fragile items properly and keep you updated as we go.
Your belongings go exactly where you want them. You pay for the hours I was on the job, and nothing else.

Plenty of removalists quote a cheap rate, then add the extras once the job's done. Here's what actually ends up on the invoice.
